C04 – A letter dated 26 September 2025 was received from Alisha Jones of Parry Davies Clwyd-Jones & Lloyd LLP (solicitors). Suggested that the Local Authority be asked to adopt the road leading to and past the cemetery – Highways Department to be contacted. Details and plans were required. According to the letter, the process could be lengthy and was at the Authority’s discretion. ‘Read again!’
C05 – The Playing Field Subcommittee was awaiting some of the grants. Mr G Taylor’s bill of £648.00 was paid – ‘Loan.’

Matters Arising
C01 – The planting of 60 trees between the Brynllwyd estate and the school. Mrs C Jones and Mr P Roper were thanked for knocking on doors and obtaining residents’ views. It was asked: why; what species of trees; the purpose; and what about all the leaves. It was a matter between the Garreglwyd Estate and the County Council; it was not for this Council to interfere.
C02 – Everyone had received a copy of the cemetery-bin rota and the new cemetery charges. (The bin was to be on the roadside when the village bins were collected). October 1; November 2; December 1.
C03 – Everyone thought that installing two bollards – one at the cemetery entrance and two others at the entrance to the new houses (locked) was a good idea.
C04 – A meeting had been held with Natalie Gael and Alisha Jones (Solicitor under supervision of NG) Saan – the name/parenthetical wording is unclear in the original to explain the position concerning the road and the Scottish Power easement at the cemetery. See the letter from Alisha Jones setting out the terms of the work.

C02 – Louise and Phil had arranged the insurance for the year with Zurich at a reasonable price of approximately £240.

C03 – The Clerk had arranged a meeting with Mr J Lloyd of the County Council and Mr K Hughes at Chapel Road. Mr J Lloyd intended to visit several other departments to explain the situation. An email had been received from Mr Arwel Evans after the Council took enforcement action against Mr Christie of Tŷ Capel, requiring items to be cleared from the road so that it was clear for use.
C04 – Up to 60 trees were to be planted between the rear of the Brynllwyd houses and the school; a matter between Carreglwyd and Anglesey Council?. Mrs K Jones and Mr Phill Roper would knock on doors to obtain the views of the owners of the houses bordering the land and report the response.

C01 – A two-minute silence was observed to commemorate Victory in Europe (VE Day).
C02 – Councillor Mr M Hughes felt that the condition of the road and S.P.’s work was progressing too slowly and suggested appointing another solicitor. The Clerk replied that S.P. was willing to pay the solicitor’s costs up to £750 plus VAT. The Community Council could not afford another bill of £750. The solicitor had contacted S.P. but received no response and intended to contact them again. The Chair reminded Mr M Hughes that he needed to declare an interest.
C03 – If hedges or tree branches caused a problem for traffic, the owners should be asked whether they could arrange for the obstruction to be removed or dealt with. Otherwise, the County Council would cut them back and send the owners the bill.
Correspondence
Two letters from Llangefni concerning changes to close some paths during Gottwood, together with details of B.T. work on Garreglwyd Road requiring a temporary closure.
Information from Councillor Mrs J Lewis concerning pothole repairs at various locations in the area.
The 2026 Urdd Eisteddfod would last seven days.
A copy of the Childcare at Play toolkit; Louise had a copy.
The insurance needed to be renewed. Clear Council quoted approximately £690, or £640 with a three-year agreement.

Matters Arising
C01 – A two-minute silence was observed to celebrate and remember Victory in Europe 80 years earlier.
C02 – Mr M Hughes felt that matters concerning Chapel Road, the easement and Scottish Power in connection with the cemetery were progressing too slowly and suggested appointing another solicitor. The Clerk said that S.P. was willing to pay up to £750 plus VAT. The current solicitor, Clare Lawden, replied that this might not be enough, depending on the amount of work and time involved. The Community Council was not in a financial position to pay another solicitor. The solicitor was asked to try to progress matters more quickly if possible. It was also agreed that the sum of £1 was disgracefully poor; the matter was to be discussed.
C03 – Where there was a problem with dangerous hedges or branches, the owner should be approached and asked whether they could arrange for them to be cut; otherwise, they would probably receive a bill from Llangefni for the work.

Present: Mr A Owen, Louise Kitson, Mr D Williams, Mr M Hughes, Mrs E A Parry, Mrs K Jones, Mr P Roper, Mr A Hughes (Chair) and Councillor Mr Ken Hughes (Anglesey).

The minutes were proposed as correct, subject to one error: Mr M Hughes’s name had been omitted from the March register. An apology and a corrected copy were given to him.
Matters Arising
C01 – A request was considered for a contribution towards a skip to clear equipment left at the playing field. The skip cost £724. A donation of £300 was agreed (a cheque to Mr Kitson), to be repaid when grant funding became available.
C02 – The meeting expressed its condolences to Mrs K Jones following the death of her uncle, Mr Gareth Jones, who had been one of the village’s former children.
Correspondence
C03 – There were no plans to celebrate Victory in Europe (VE Day), but people could take part by observing a period of silence the following Thursday if they wished.
A request for funding from a dementia organisation was accepted.
Any Other Business
C04 – Several hedges or branches needed cutting around the village: the Old School; the Old Post Office – Carys; and part of a tree at Brynllwyd.
C05 – Everyone present had been given an opportunity to see the bank statement and the 2024-25 financial sheet: £5,398.32 + £2,333 – £300 – £20 = £7,411.65.
